Host Jim Wilhelm looks back at the history of the rails at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union--the largest railroad museum in the nation. On display is an impressive display of street cars dating back prior to the Civil War. During the day volunteers take visitors on train rides around the facility. The program also learns how old train cars come back to life, takes a trip to the Gridley Telephone Museum, and visits the Barkhausen Wetland Center in Cypress, the best place to begin when exploring the Cache River. |
