Host Jim Wilhelm visits DeKalb, the "Barbed City," to tour the buildings and learn the history of the Ellwood mansion, the beautiful Victorian home of Isaac Ellwood, one of the kings of barbed wire fencing and owners of Illinois' largest Percheron horse farm. The program also visits the Dr. Hiram Rutherford Home in Oakland whose owner went to court for the freedom of slaves.
