The first ILLINOIS ADVENTURE destination for this program was Rockford, for a tour of the Burpee Museum of Natural History, home to a full-sized Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton. There was also a visit to the Lincoln Home in Springfield, to Illinois College in Jacksonville to look at a program to save endangered orchids, and to the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center near Ottawa to watch the operation of a Lock and Dam.
