The Little Grand Canyon Trial is located in the Shawnee National Forest and is south of the town of Murphysboro. The trial is a three mile loop which covers a verity of scenery including forest, hill prairie, and sandstone formations. The region was setup as a National Forest in 1933, with the Little Grand Canyon Trial designated as a Natural National Landmark in 1980.
